Eastern Bay Gatehouse is a very private cottage on the shores of Lamoine (20 minute drive to Mount Desert Island and the Thompson Island information center for Acadia), where the kayaking and paddleboarding are great!
Set back a bit from the shore, the cottage has lovely views of the water and of its numerous apple trees (for the picking!). The property is just a 10 minute, or so, drive to the Lamoine State Park and Lamoine Beach. (No fee.) It’s also just 30 minutes drive to the main entrance to Acadia’s Park Loop Road. Enjoy lovely sunsets, peacefull surroundings. Also swim at nearby Blunt’s Pond on Asa’s Lane
The quaint accommodations are a great spot for your group of 4 (and doggy)!
The main living space for the cottage is on the 2nd floor. You enter into house through the lower level (which contains the owner’s storage/garage space) and climb the stairs to the main living space. There is a large “great room” with lovely kitchen, dining area and living room. The deck off this floor has lovely views of the water and is very pleaseant outdoor space and BBQ.
There are two queen bedrooms. One has an en suite bathroom (with jacuzzi style tub and shower). There is also another bathroom with shower on this floor.
The lower level also features a den, TV, bathroom with shower, a sleep futon and laundry.
