Mount Desert Island from Sullivan
Most of my paintings are very small. They run from around 2.5 x 3 inches to 9 x 13. My house is tiny and I don’t have a studio, so this works for me. I paint in watercolor most often, not only because it is magically beautiful and very versatile, but also beause it is so portable and easy to start and then come back to without a lot of clean-up. I sometimes paint in gouache, acrylics and oils as well. To see all my work, scroll down. Images expand.
Landscapes and Nature Scenes
First Snow on the Point, watercolor and gouache
In this painting, the mountains in the background are inspired by one of my favorite places on Earth. The islands are like many Maine Islands and of course there are “Points” all over the place here. So this is an imaginary place on an imaginary evening, inspired by real places and real events, in Downeast Maine.
Available as a 5 x 7 print
Jellison Cove, Hancock Point, watercolor
This is one of my favorite places to walk to from my house. I’ve painted it a couple times. In this painting, you can see Sullivan Harbor across the water.
Available as a 6 x 8 print
Lupines on the Bay
AA view of Sullivan Harbor when the lupines are in bloom.
