The Area

Enjoy Mountains and Beaches in Acadia National Park, the second most visited National Park in the USA. Enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views of the ocean, harbors, lakes, & ponds from mountain top views. There is something here for everyone– nature, fishing, golfing, bird watching, discovering flowers, swimming, hiking, repelling, kayaking/canoeing, and biking. For indoor activities there are many options, such as shopping, watching a movie, enjoying a live play, or visiting a variety of museums including Native American, Bird carving, Nature, Whale, and Auto Museums. Enjoy a carriage ride, do a whale watch, take a trolley ride or ferry ride. There is so much to do here all year round.

The House

Our home is a New England style house located in tranquil wooded setting in Southwest Harbor on the ‘quiet side’ of Mt Desert Island near Acadia National Park.  There is a large front lawn for the children to play on, and lovely flower gardens. It has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one additional twin bed to sleep a total of 5 people. There is a full bath, large kitchen with all accessories supplied, dining room, and a family room. The rental space is all conveniently located on the first floor, 1120 sq. feet, with an open floor plan. Washer and Dryer located in the basement.  2nd floor is currently unfinished and inaccessible. There is a garage apartment that is sometimes occupied and the entrance and parking for it are separate and apart from the house. A picnic table and grill are available outside.

Location

Our home is located 5 miles or less from Acadia National Park’s Echo Lake Swimming Beach, Seawall, and Bass Harbor Lighthouse, and just minutes from downtown Southwest Harbor, one of the most charming seaside villages in Maine. We are about 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and all it has to offer.
